What is a Gaited Horse?

A gaited horse is a horse that performs a gait other than the four basics (walk, trot, canter, and gallop), either by inheriting the gait naturally or by learning the gait through special training. The gaited horse was originally bred to be a comfort horse, with a smooth gait and a calm disposition.  Some of the individual gaits they can perform are listed below:

Hard Trot, Animated Trot, or Show Trot
Technically just a trot, but this is classified as a Gaited Horse step because of its animation and comfort to the rider.
